Six of a Kind (Kind Brothers #7)(5)
Author: Sandi Lynn

The next morning, after I woke up, I saw a text message in our group chat from Nathan.

“We’re down having breakfast. Bring Lonely Girl with you.”

I took a quick shower, threw on some clothes, and headed to the restaurant.

“There he is.” Conner grinned. “Where’s Lonely Girl? Don’t tell me you didn’t sleep with her.”

“First of all, her name is Nikki, and second, I did. She left right after because she had an early morning flight.”

“She’s gone already?” Nathan asked.

“Yeah. She had to be at the airport by seven.”

“Bro, what the fuck is going on?” Conner asked as his eye narrowed at me.

“What do you mean?”

“I can’t quite put my finger on it, but you seem a little down that she left.”

“Don’t be an idiot. Why the hell would I be down that she left? Even if she didn’t, I wouldn’t see her again. One night means one night.”

“Okay,” Conner spoke. “Did you find out anything about her?”

“No. Why would I? I wasn’t interested in her life, only her body.”

CHAPTER 6

Georgia

Sitting on the plane from Cabo to Los Angeles, I tried to close my eyes since I had been awake the entire night after being with Jackson. There was sex, and then there was SEX. I’d had plenty of it since I’d lost my virginity at sixteen, and my body had never experienced what it did last night.

When the plane landed at LAX, I turned on my phone and noticed a text message from Emilia.

“I am so sorry. I had an emergency with a patient, so Sebastian is picking you up. Here’s a picture of us if you don’t remember what he looks like. He’ll be the sexy guy waiting for you in baggage claim. I can’t wait to see you!”

I couldn’t help but smile as I stared at the picture of them. He sure as hell was hot, and they were the picture-perfect couple. When I stepped inside baggage claim, Sebastian stood there, and when he saw me approach him, a smile graced his face.

“Georgia?”

“You must be the handsome man that has made my friend a very happy woman.” I grinned.

“It’s great to meet you finally,” he spoke as he hugged me.

“It’s great to meet you too, Sebastian.”

After we had grabbed my luggage, we headed to his car.

“Thank you for letting me stay with you for a couple of days until my apartment is ready.”

“No problem. We love having people stay with us. Plus, you’re family now.” He smiled. “Where did you end up getting an apartment?”

“In Santa Monica over on Ocean Avenue.”

“Great area and you’re close to us.”

“It feels really good to be back here. It’s been a long time.” I smiled.

“I know Emilia is excited to see you. You’re all she’s been talking about to the girls.”

“I’ve heard a lot about them, and I can’t wait to meet them.”

“Well, you’ll get to meet them later. We’re throwing you a welcome back to California party.”

Sebastian pulled into the driveway and grabbed my two large suitcases from the back.

“What a beautiful home,” I said as we stepped inside. “Oh my gosh. You must be Ruby.” I knelt and grabbed her face. “You are so cute.”

“She’s your best friend now.” Sebastian smiled. “I’m going to run these up to your room. Make yourself comfortable.”

I looked around, stepped out the sliding door to the patio, and took in the magnificent view.

“Beer?” Sebastian asked as he walked up next to me, holding two bottles.

“Thanks.” I smiled. “I’m sorry about your father.”

“Thank you. I appreciate it. It definitely was a shock.”

“Those are always the worst.” I brought the bottle up to my lips.

“That’s right. Emilia said your parents were killed in a small plane crash when you were twelve.”

“Yeah. I can’t believe it’s almost been twenty-one years.”

“Bro, I’m telling Emilia you’re having beautiful women over when she’s not home.”

“Shut up, douchebag.” Sebastian chuckled. “Georgia, this is my brother, Stefan. Stefan, meet Dr. Georgia Scott.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Georgia.” Stefan grinned as he extended his hand.

“Nice to meet you. You’re the one who’s married to Alex with the three kids, right?”

“Very good.” He smiled.

“There you are!” I heard Emilia’s voice from behind.

“Ah!” I grinned as I ran over and hugged her.

“It’s so good to see you again. It’s been far too long,” Emilia spoke.

“I know.” I broke our embrace.

“We’ll let you two catch up,” Sebastian said as he kissed Emilia, and he and his brother walked away.

“You’ve got yourself an amazing man, Emilia.”

“I do, don’t I?” She grinned. “So, how was Cancun?”

“I didn’t end up going. I changed destinations at the last minute.”

“Oh. Where did you go?”

“Cabo.”

“That’s where Sebastian’s cousins are right now.”

“The ones I have an interview with on Monday?” I asked.

“Yeah. I can’t remember where they were staying, though. Anyway, Sebastian and I are having the family over tonight, and we’re throwing you a welcome back to California party. That way, you can meet everyone.”

“He mentioned that. You don’t have to do that.”

“It’s what we do. Get used to it because we do it up every weekend, and you’ll be joining us.” A grin crossed her face.

“In that case, I can’t wait. It’s good to see you so happy again, my friend.”

“Honestly, I never thought I would be happy again after—well, you know. You were there. Anyway, how are you really doing?”

“I’m good.” My lips gave way to a light smile.

“Georgia?”

“I am. I think this move to California and a new start is what I needed. When I was in Cabo, I did a lot of self-reflecting. Nothing was keeping me in New York anymore. My heart was always here in Cali, and now I’m back. I’m moving forward. Just like you did.” I grabbed hold of Emilia’s hand.

“And maybe you will meet the perfect man here.” She grinned.

“I hate men, Em.”

“You hate doctors.”

I laughed. “That’s what Nikki said.”

“I totally understand, and I know exactly how you feel. But then I met Sebastian, and he changed my entire life. California changed my life, and I know it will for you too. I can’t wait for you to meet Sebastian’s cousins. They’re awesome men, and they’re going to love you. I can’t believe we’re going to work together again.”

“I didn’t get the job yet.”

“You will, Georgia. Trust me. Conner told me he was very impressed with your resume and is looking forward to meeting you. Come on, let’s go inside and get ready before everyone comes over.” She hooked her arm around me.
